Server Space Information

Information concerning personal, shared, and web serverspace
Personal Server Space

As a Student at Wentworth you have access to a drive that provides you with personal server space while here on campus. Every time you log on to a computer, on campus, with your Active Directory Username and Password you can access this space. You can use it to store files instead of putting those files on a floppy disk or a CD. You can also use this space to backup important documents from your computer's hard drive. Think of this drive as just another hard drive that resides at OIT. You are the only person who has access to it. To connect to your personal server space please follow the directions below:

For PC users:

Once you have logged in to any computer on campus with your Active Directory Username and Password please look under "My Computer."

You should notice that there are several new hard drive icons including one that should look something like,

"yourname on 'Ntwit03\Users' (P:)"

You may hear people refer to this as the "P Drive." Double click on this icon to view your personal server space or save documents to this location.

Shared Server Space:

The Shared drive allows all students to share information with each other. For example, if you would like to share a document with your fellow classmates, you can place a document into a folder on the Shared drive and anyone should be able to see it and collaborate with you. Please keep in mind that this drive is open to all students so sensitive material should never be placed on the Shared drive. Also, since this drive is open to everyone, the Shared drive should never be used to backup your documents. You can create folders within the Shared drive.

For PC users:

Once you have logged in to any computer on campus with your Active Directory Username and Password please look under "My Computer."
