Accessing your Myweb.wit.edu Web Space via FTP

File Transfer Protocol to MyWeb

FTP is one of the simplest methods to upload your files to your Myweb web-server space. You can use the current version of Internet Explorer from your PC, or, any of a number of FTP programs from PC or Mac.

 


Accessing your site on your PC:

  1. If you are using internet explorer to access your site via ftp, the address you use is ftp://myweb.wit.edu
  2. When prompted for your username, type wit\[your username]
  3. Your password is the same as the active directory password you use to log onto your local computer.
  4. If you are using an ftp client (such as WSftp) the address you will use is myweb.wit.edu
  5. username and password are the same as above.

Accessing your site on your Mac using Fetch:

  1. Fetch is an ftp client that allows you to access your site, upload, download and delete files.
  2. All Wentworth Macs have fetch installed. If you are using a personal machine and need the program, go to http://fetchsoftworks.com/Licensing/edustore.application.html where you can download a free copy.
  3. When you start Fetch a window for a "New Connection will come up. For "Host Name" use: myweb.wit.edu
  4. For your username, type wit\[your username]
  5. Your password is the same as the active directory password you use to log onto your local computer.

 

 

 

  1. Upon successful connection you'll see a window of your web directory into which you can drag your files for publication.
