Riddle Me This 1, 2, 3

This is a new series of videos weaving image and text threads through one another. The first three features on the Riddle Me This page were shot on Monhegan Island in May 2008.

Expanded Drawing Video Project

EDVP works with magnetic fields to display moving images and to make drawings that are descendant of humankind's earliest visual output. The project is composed of ten abstract videos with audio by Lou Cohen and one hundred drawings I made with magnets and black iron oxide.

I am fascinated by both processes: the power of video art to conjure the magic I feel when I drew and the unexpected behaviors of the pigment and the ball as the force of the magnet acted upon them both. My aim has to share some of these sensations through the art.
