In early April I will be attending FILMOBLE in London. This event will explore the cultural impact brought about by new mobile technologies and initiate debates between artists, the media and the new mobile industry. FILMOBILE consists of a three parts: a gallery exhibition, cinema screenings and an international conference. I will be participating in each. Expanded Drawing Video Project will premiere in the University of Westminster London Gallery where the exhibition will be until May 5, 2008. For information go to filmobile.net

119 Gallery offers a provocative display of technical facility in its second expanded sculpture showcase. Specializing in electronic media, the gallery embraces traditional and new media with equal zeal. Featuring a contrasting collection of sculpture by five artists, expanded sculpture 2 juxtaposes sculptures of wood, metal and other “traditional” materials with video sculpture and three-dimensional “prints.”

"Despite its name, Bebe Beard’s sculpture series “con·flict” cleverly balances the simple elements of wire and metal with video animations of their shadows. Her video sculptures create snarls, knots and entanglements that are impossible to sort out. Recorded sound from the objects is activated by the viewer. Depicting discord and tension, con·flict is an innovative interpretation of line." - Mary Ann Kearns, Curator.
