Department of Applied Mathematics and Sciences

Welcome to the Department

Vision and Mission

Mathematics and science courses comprise part of the core of each Wentworth student's college program. Our departmental offerings are designed to help facilitate student success across all programs at the Institute.

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Sciences is the home to two undergraduate programs:

Engineering Technology-Interdisciplinary (BEN) and
Environmental Sciences (BES)

both leading to the Bachelor of Science degree.

Our environmental science majors develop a broad-based education in the natural and physical sciences, including biology, chemistry, and physics. They utilize their acquired knowledge to solve contemporary environmental problems facing industry, governments and local, regional, and global communities. The curriculum exposes these majors to students, faculty, and practicing professionals from differing disciplines in preparation for the real world of inter-disciplinary team problem solving.

A majority of the department faculty are housed in offices on either the 2nd floor or in the basement of Ira Allen Building. Additional department faculty members are housed in offices in Wilson Hall, Dobbs Hall, and Annex North.
