National Conference:
If you were still interested in attending the National Conference there is an October 10th deadline
Jessica Mosman and Brittany Isherwood will be attending this year’s conference in Nashville, TN on October 25-27. They are being fully sponsored by BD Medical.
National Membership:
If you have applied for national membership online make sure you print out a receipt so you can be reimbursed the $20 application fee at the end of the year.
Fundraising Ideas:
The candy fundraiser was discussed and candy will be bought on October 31 and the candy will then be distributed at our November 6th meeting.
We continued discussion about possible raffles and some that were agreed upon were Utrek/Blick gift certificates, $25 to The Cheesecake Factory, Best Buy gift certificates, as well as gift baskets to be raffled off.
SWE Shirts:
We voted on the two t-shirt designs and agreed on Jessica’s design.
We are going to order 30 from customink.com
Community Service:
Danielle discussed Camp Sunshine and had sign up sheets for Friday October 19th and Saturday October 20th.

MaGiC:
We quickly discussed MaGiC and Professor Hattaway talked about last year’s event and how successful it was. We need to begin planning and come up with a possible theme.

SWE Awareness:

SWE Awareness went well however, we had a conflict with Beatty lobby being double booked with a bake sale going on at the same time as our event.

National Conference Update:

Our president Jessica Mosman and fundraising chair Brittany Isherwood will be attending this years National Conference in Nashville, TN on October 25-27.

Jessica and Brittany are being fully sponsored by BD Medical.

National Membership:

During our meeting we filled out the membership forms

If you did not fill a membership form you can apply online just be sure to print out a receipt so that you can be reimbursed at the end of the year.

Fundraising Ideas:
We came up with various fundraising ideas. Some of the suggestions were to sell candy apples, to have a candy fundraiser, to raffle off gift certificates for dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse or Uno’s, and to create gift baskets for Christmas with various items like DVDs to raffle off as well.

We decided to have the candy sale. Brittany will purchase candy toward the middle of November and candy will be sold prior to finals.

Community Service:
We discussed a community service event for Camp Sunshine, which is a camp for disabled children. Danielle will gather additional information on the event and report back at next weeks meeting.

SWE Shirts:
SWE decided that we want light blue and gray rugby shirts that have the gear logo outline with “SWE @ WIT” without the leopard background.
